Lots of fun is on the cards for nursery tots on Saturday Date:30/05/2010 13:52:51
Little Achievers Day Nursery to hold Open Day on Saturday 15th May between 11:00 am – 1:00 pm The open day will give staff a chance to showcase the nursery’s brand new outside play area which has been funded by a £20,000 early years capital grant from the Department of Children, Schools and Families (DCSF). Visitors will be able to explore the new sensory garden for babies and the new road painted on the play ground, which allows the children to become safety aware, as well as get physically active! Another great feature is the garden, where the children grow plants and vegetables and also learn all about healthy eating and looking after and caring for things at the same time. Visitors will also be able to check on progress with another new initiative under development at the nursery guaranteed to be a big hit with the children - a wonderland story telling cave. Other open day highlights include a spring fair featuring tombolas and cake stalls as well as lots of exciting games for children of all ages. The nursery applied for the DCSF funding via Sure Start which has been responsible for administering and allocating the DCSF grants. The grants have been made available to improve the quality of early years play and physical activity learning environments. More information from Emma Burnside on 01772 704664
