Rosy Apple Childcare’s Commitment to Apprenticeships Recognised Winners of the Lancashire Apprentice Employer of the Year Award 2009, Rosy Apple Childcare hopes to win the NW Apprentice Employer of the Year Award at a ceremony to be held on 19th May at ? The NW winners will go through to the national competition to be held on 16th July 2009 at Old Billingsgate, London. Now in their sixth year, the Apprentice Employer of the Year Awards have been designed to recognise and reward employers who are successfully using Apprenticeships to improve their business performance and tackle skills shortages. Organised by the Learning and Skills Council, awards are offered across different sizes of company and Rosy Apple Childcare is the Lancashire winner of the award for medium sized companies. Committed to training through Apprenticeships, Rosy Apple Childcare Managing Director, Sharon Alexander is working with Lancashire Enterprise Business Partnership as a local ambassador for the scheme. Delighted to be the Lancashire winner of this prestigious employer’s award, she says, “A dynamic approach to training is essential and Modern Apprenticeships are a crucial element of our training programme. Our Apprenticeships are definitely helping our day nurseries to prosper and we have long term plans for continued development through Apprenticeships. We currently employ 13 Modern Apprentices funded by the Learning and Skills Council, 11 in Child Care and 2 in Business Administration.” Ms Alexander adds, “We are able to offer young people access to employment at a very early stage in their careers and we support the new specialised diploma for 14 -19 year-olds.
