Leading Lancashire Day Nursery Managing Director, Sharon Alexander to speak at National Conference Rosy Apple’s Sharon Alexander has been invited to speak at the National Day Nursery Association’s National two-day Conference ‘nurseries…the children, the future and you’, to be held in May at York. Speaking to the remit, “it’s a tough job…. leading and managing through turbulent times”, Sharon plans an inspirational session to provide valuable tips and advice on dealing with the high emotions and anxiety that can be brought on by an economic downturn. She will also offer advice on how to keep your teams’ spirits up with strong confident management. Sharon says, “I will talk about the positive culture I have worked so hard to develop since starting in business 5 years ago; it is proving very useful now. I will talk about staff bonus incentives, involving staff in major decision making about company strategies, giving staff financial control via budgeting, staff welfare schemes and having fun too.” Also speaking at the conference will be critically acclaimed author and former inspector Gervase Phinn; Beverley Hughes MP, Minister of State for Children, Young People and Families; Simon Morrison from the Home Office and Westminster Children’s Society. Topical issues to be covered at the conference include developments in safeguarding policy, the Early Years Foundation Stage, workforce development across England, Scotland and Wales, inclusion and supporting fathers and male carer-child relationships. The National Day Nurseries Association (NDNA) is the national charity representing children’s day nurseries across the UK.
